*ACTUAL* GROUNDING

Anxiety is unfortunately something many of us struggle with, and trying to deal with it in a spiritual sense can be very confusing. A lot of people in the new age community seem to have not studied elemental balance as they attempt to gain MENTAL stability by performing 'grounding', a technique in which you wander around naked or barefoot in nature.
MENTAL instability comes from the mind. The mind is ruled by the Air element, not, Earth.
Earth alone has absolutely nothing to do with mental or emotional stability, as it is a combination of elements that result in that. It seems that way and we do experience a sense of calmness when we are near nature, but simply because Earth is of Tamasic nature. Because it is so heavy and 'grounded', it actually generates stillness...Not MENTAL stability...Stillness. They are not the same thing.
Earth has to do with lethargy, just as the Kapha dosha in ayrvuvedic system is of earth and water element, and people with this dosha need to perform agitated exercises, eat spicy food, etc, in order to raise them out of lethargy.
Observing people who do this type of practice, I noticed that not a single tiny bit of them are mentaly stable , quite the very opposite, they are incredibly unstable mentally and unregulated emotionally.
There's nothing wrong in doing that if you like it, go ahead, knock your naked self out, but you simply cannot state that this is to bring mental stability and "groundness", because it simply does not make esoteric and spiritual sense. So if you like doing it then simply do it because you like it, do not create illusionary reasons based in lack of spiritual knowlged and experience, while a millenar health science states otherwise, as well as just about every piece of esoteric text about elements and how they manifest through us, including another millenar science, astrology.
The actual way to gain mental stability, is through working with the Air element. You can perform air healing mantras (Aum for example) or simple mindful meditation, you can work with candles, or with deities related to air, as well as ayurvedic recommendations to balance this problem out.
